Paraty & Rio de Janiero, Brazil

Paraty is a small town in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Located on the south coast of the state, 258 miles from the state capital, Rio de Janeiro city. 

The colonial city of Paraty is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO renowned for its unique blend of historical and natural riches, mountains covered with dense green Atlantic forest, as well as over 60 islands and 90 beaches in Paraty, part of the Serra da Bocaina National Park.

 

Cusco & Lima, Peru

As the oldest living city in the Americas, Cusco has been inhabited continuously for over 3,000 years. It was the historic capital of the Inca Empire from the 13th to 16th century until Spanish conquest, and now is a major destination, receiving nearly 2 million visitors per year.

Peru-based programs also have the opportunity to visit Peru’s coastal capital, Lima, the desert oasis of Huacachina as well as hike to Machu Picchu.

 

Programs

3 Bricks currently leads programs for college students and young professionals in both Brazil and Peru.
Programs are typically between 10 and 21 days focusing on cultural immersion and service as a tool for learning.
Program costs cover all community project costs, lodging, 3 meals per day, cultural activities, excursions, pre-departure support, educational material, staffing, and transportation in-country.

Our student-centered programs mean that all activities, projects, practices and infrastructure are planned with the safety, learning outcomes and needs of students as the number one priority. We believe that everyone learns in their own way and it is the program staff’s role to act as a support and guide for students through their learning.

Service

At 3 Bricks, all projects and activities are planned in partnership with long-standing local leaders, partners, and NGOs. We're strong advocates of participatory practice, networking grassroots efforts with national and international research endeavors. Working with partners, we plan, support, and lead projects that are a part of internationally coordinated efforts, connecting research to action and giving our students an opportunity to take action alongside local and international and local professionals.

Nature, Culture & Adventure

Learn about the most iconic tourist destinations in Latin America with opportunities to see wildlife, UNESCO world heritage sites, and depending on your program location, opportunities for activities such as Zip-lining, Snorkeling, Boat rides to tropical Islands and isolated beaches, Kayaking, Hiking, Jeep Jungle adventure, traditional cooking and dance classes.
